Measured against the standards of Baden-Württemberg, the city of Nürtingen on the river Neckar, long term residence of the famous German poet Hölderlin, is not particularly large, but the individuality of the city makes it a must-see. The story of Nürtingen goes back to the era of the Celts and now over 40,000 inhabitants live in the third largest city of the district of Esslingen.
The heart of the city and well worth visiting is the medieval Old Town containing the town church of St. Lawrence, alleys, fountains and historical buildings. One of the highlights is the picturesque castle hill. Culture vultures will find a wide range of events in Nürtingen. In addition to theatre performances, cabaret and concerts, there are many exhibitions. Not to forget the numerous other activities. Among the most popular are the historic Christmas market, the Nürtinger Jazz Festival, the Nürtingen Wine Festival, the traditional town fair Maientag, as well as various markets and city festivals.

The city on the banks of the Neckar River enjoys a high quality of life. It is situated within a scenic countryside on the outskirts of the Swabian Alps.

This culture and convention centre in the heart of the city, with 2,200 square meters, offers an ideal forum for events.
