The impressive Maulbronn Monastery

The Maulbronn Monastery is the best preserved Cistercian monastery north of the Alps. The monastery was founded in 1147 and in the Middle Ages it was an important political and social center. Today the complete complex provides insights into the life and work of the Cistercian order. After the Reformation the monastery was converted into a Protestant monastery school. The Protestant theological seminary still exists today. Since 1993 the monastery is part of the Unesco World Heritage.

Thanks to the A 8 and B 10 motorways, the Maulbronn Monastery has excellent connections to Stuttgart (45 km) and Pforzheim (20 km).
