The Hohenneuffen Fortress Ruins

The Hohenneuffen Fortress Ruins is one of the most popular destinations for excursions in Württemberg. This fortress lies on a massif on the edge of the Swabian Alb.The castle was built between 1100 and 1120 and was never conquered. The access to Hohenneuffen Castle is free for the public. The castle is situated only 15 kilometers away from the river Neckar, above the town of Neuffen in the district of Esslingen.

Inside the fortress you`ll find a superb restaurant, beer garden and a kiosk. During the year Hohenneuffen Fortress is also used for concerts and a medieval-style market.

Opening hours:
From 1 April to 31 October: Wednesday to Saturday, 09:00 am to 22:00 pm
Sunday 09:00 am to 07:00 pm
From 1 November to 31 March: Wednesday to Sunday, 10:00 am to 06:00 pm
Restaurant open all year.
No admission charge.
