The Dilsberg Fortress Ruins

High above the Neckar River valley, close to the former imperial city of Neckargemünd you'll find the Dilsberg Fortress Ruins. The former castle is well-known for its panoramic view over the Neckar valley and the Odenwald forest. Dilsberg Fortress was built by the counts of Lauffen and was regarded as unconquerable for many centuries.

Since 1973 Dilsberg is incorporated into Neckargemünd as a part of the town.

Opening Hours:

Castle courtyard and fortress, April 1 to October 31, daily except Mondays, 10.00 am to 05.30 pm.
November 1 to March 31: open by appointment
Guided tours are possible by prior arrangement with the Tourist Information Office in Neckargemünd.
